Our Objectives
The main objective of Action for food is to scale up food security in Africa at large one community at a time.
Specifically, Action for food seeks to:
- To motivate youth and women to engage in agriculture as a route out of unemployment and poverty. This is done through capacity building training/ workshops and seminars.
- To raise the level of urgency and awareness concerning the situation of food insecurity in local communities where we work and in Africa at large through our innovative advocacy campaigns
- To equip youth and rural women with entrepreneurship and leadership skills to enable them engage in and sustain small scale agricultural business ventures
- To encourage an increase in food production by tackling food waste and promoting post-harvest management
- Support innovations in science and technology that go a long way to enhance food processing and commodity value addition.
- Provide technical and financial assistance to rural women as start-up capital for financial empowerment, which goes a long way to affect their household food security levels.
- Provide training on low-cost sustainable and echo-friendly methods of cultivation and food preservation
- Raise awareness on the socio-economic, political and health impact of food poverty and ways of alleviating it
- Promote the establishment of community youth and women groups to access services and to ensure smooth functioning of out
